Create Before You Consume 🌱

Hey Reader,

If you’ve ever found yourself wanting to buy one more thing for the garden, the kitchen, or your home… this episode is for you.

Today I’m sharing a mindset shift that has been helping me slow down, feel more grounded, and reconnect with the parts of homesteading I actually love:

Create before you consume.

Before I go buy something (or consume more media), I try to plant something, make something, organize something, or fix something first.

Not because shopping is bad.
Not because we have to ā€œearnā€ rest or purchases.
But because I’ve noticed something really important:

I feel happier when I participate in my life instead of just consuming more from it.

In this episode, we’re talking about:

  • why homesteading gave me hobbies back
  • the emotional difference between creating and consuming
  • perfectionism in homesteading
  • shopping dopamine vs. lasting satisfaction
  • using what you already have
  • why creating something small can completely shift your mindset

This one felt a little vulnerable to record, but I have a feeling some of you may relate more than you think.

Listen to the episode here:

And now I want to know... Am I the only one struggling with this?
What’s something you’ve created lately instead of consumed?

Maybe it was a garden bed, a loaf of bread, a cleaned-out drawer, or simply dinner from what you already had at home.

Hit reply or send me a DM on Instagram — I’d genuinely love to hear.

Thanks for being my sounding board today ā¤ļø
